One of the newest forms of protection in our modern world is vests and plate carriers. Vests are designed to protect individuals by chipping off their attacker’s plate and allowing the wearer to fight freely. Plate carriers, on the other hand, are designed to hold a few heavy front and back plate plates as much as ballistic protection for the wearer. Both of these carriers can be worn over traditional backpacks and heavy duty tactical packs. If you plan to buy a vest, you will find that they come in a wide variety of designs and styles, such as flat weave vests, heavy plate carriers, and soft armor plate carriers.

Another type of vest available to consumers today are the soft armor plate carriers. Soft armor carriers work just like hard plate carriers but they feature soft padding inside of them so that your body doesn’t feel so much pain from the hard impact plate. The soft padding inside the soft vest is breathable and can help cool the body down during hot summer days. A lot of these soft plate carriers have mesh pockets sewn inside of them, which can be very helpful when you need to carry ammunition or another load. You can also use the mesh pockets to store your tactical gear, such as knife, flashlights, or other items.

There are many people who prefer to use plate carriers instead of vests when they are going to fight outdoors. Although they do have their advantages, I wouldn’t recommend vests for everyday street combat. They are much heavier than vests and much more difficult to run in while running uphill. Plate carriers tend to fall off every time you want to run uphill, so you really don’t get a free run for your money when you use them outside. However, if you enjoy hunting and outdoors activities, I would highly recommend them.
